Awards and Honors

In 2015, my story for Rhode Island Public Radio, “Westerly Quarry Still A Quandary For Neighboring Residents,” won a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting in a large radio market.

In 2011, my story for Minnesota Public Radio, A Family Deployment, was part of a series that won a third-place award in the best news series category in the 77th annual National Headliner Awards.

The Dart Center for Journalism & Trauma also featured A Family Deployment as exemplary journalism. The Dart Center invited me to write about how this story came together.

In 2007, my story MPR story, False documents: A lucrative business, which I co-reported with my colleague Annie Baxter, placed first in the hard feature category in the annual Eric Sevareid Awards presented by the Northwest Broadcast News Association.

My story MPR story, Priests and health department tackle fetal and infant deaths among Latino families, won an honorable mention in 2007 for best feature in the annual Minnesota Associated Press Broadcast Awards.
